Taggleharpa Gran Bass
Summer 2025 to Present
Historical Reproduction Instrument
But metal
As part of a long standing training exercise that was initially intended to stretch the limits of a CNC machine, the Taggleharpa has become a pet development project that is enjoyed by many in the shop and beyond. We regularly use this instrument for sample projects, finishes and woodworking demos and enjoy every iteration for their unique sound, feel and character. This particular instrument, later named Yggy (a blend of Yggdrasil, the ancient Viking tree of knowledge of inspiration, and Iggy Pop, king of punk) is the OG mother of them all. Iggy was built on the day of the death of one, the prince of darkness, Ozzy Osbourne himself, inspiring the tradition of carving the names of our fallen rockstars on her back. Today, Yggy lives in the shop and shares her deep, distorted song with all who want to play. She has so many modifications as we’ve tweaked her design and played with new features. Scared, tattooed and sassy, she’s become an icon for our own progress and development.
