A custom fabrication shop with over 21 years of real life building experience.
When Cory and her brother were kids, their dad started teaching them carpentry in his shop. They remember him teaching them to use the old tools before they had the privilege of the newer, powered ones. It might seem archaic, but we believe that understanding the ancestors of our tools makes us better, more versatile builders.
We cut our teeth in custom residential construction. Real houses, real tolerances, real consequences if you get it wrong. From there, we found our way into attraction design and immersive environments, building spaces that feel as real as they look.
The first Mammoth Shop was built in 2016, little more than a shed in a friends back yard. With only 300 square feet to work in, we became masters of efficiency, while finally having a space all our own to stretch our skills in designing our own, sustainable materials, exploring higher levels of detail and realism, and building a voice that was eco conscious, high quality, and bold.
Now, we specialize in high-end custom components and realistic physical spaces. We love tight joints, sharp tools, elaborate jigs and a good challenge. We believe making things with your hands matters, and aren’t afraid of a little sawdust on our sandwich. We’re always happy to share what we know; teach, collaborate, and help others grow all the unusual skills they need to pursue their own wild endeavors.
We are builders first.
Our team values quality, craftsmanship, and problem-solving over shortcuts or spectacle. Many of us can cut a dovetail joint by hand just as quickly as we can on a bandsaw or CNC — and we choose the method based on what the work actually needs.
Detail and realism.
We thrive on detail, complex challenges, and pushing the limits of realism. We build openly, design for adaptability, and treat sustainability as a practical discipline, not a talking point. Materials are used thoughtfully, waste is minimized, and systems are built to evolve as projects grow.
