When you’re berserker for cosplay

Ok maybe that’s taking it a bit far, but we sure had fun with it. In reverence to the old ways, we repurposed old cedar boards (not tree trunks, we know) to make a shield that has the weight, feel, and history of something authentically battle worn and handed down through generations of fighters. We alternated between layers of real battle, abusing it with knives, arrows, swords and fire, then repair, new blessings and runes, then back to battle again. Finishing around 30lbs, this beast is finished with black pine pitch resin and enough evidence of battle that it could buy you a drink and tell you a hell of a story.
